Tenth Neural Computation and Psychology Workshop (NCPW10)
Dijon, France: April 12-14, 2007
This year will be the Tenth Neural Computation and Psychology Workshop (NCPW10). It will be held in
Dijon, France.
Nearly all of the
NCPWs have been held in Britain, starting with NCPW1, held in Bangor, Wales. Only once before did NCPW venture across the Channel to Liege, Belgium.
That particular workshop, held in the year 2000, was a memorable gathering that mixed wine, beer, good food and excellent science in just about the right proportions. It was hosted by
Bob French at the University of Liege. Since then, Bob has joined the French National Scientific Research Center (CNRS) and moved to Dijon, France, heart of the Burgundy wine region and one of the gastronomic centers of the known universe. He would like to invite one and all to:
The Tenth Neural Computation and Psychology Workshop (NCPW10) to be held in Dijon, France, at the University of Burgundy from April 12-14, 2007.
Every year the organizers decide on a theme. The problem has always been that this theme was, in fact, mostly something to put on the cover of the Proceedings (to be published, once again, by World Scientific. See the NCPW 9 Proceedings
here ).
As a result, this year there will be NO SPECIFIC THEME, but papers must be about emergent models -- frequently, but not necessarily -- of the connectionist/neural network kind, applied to cognition.

This is the tenth edition of the Neural Computation and Psychology Workshop series. These workshops have always been characterized by their limited size, high quality papers, the absence of parallel talk sessions, and a schedule that is explicitly designed to encourage interaction among the researchers present in an informal setting.
Plenary speaker :
Simon Thorpe, (University of Toulouse III) :
Spikes and Rapid Scene Processing
Organizers :
Bob French
Xanthi Skoura-Papaxanthis
