PhD position: Rhythm processing and temporal predictions

3-year PhD position in the Laboratory for Research on Learning and Development, LEAD – CNRS UMR5022 (http://leadserv.u-bourgogne.fr/en), Université de Bourgogne, Dijon, France, for the project MusiC (Music and Cognition: Music to understand cognition) funded by the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Regional Council.
 
The PhD integrates in an international research project aiming to 1) evaluate different aspects of rhythm processing capacities in children, and 2) investigate the potential benefits of rhythmic stimulation and training on cognitive processes, including language processing and attention. Co-supervision with Anna Fiveash, MARCS Institute, Western Sydney University (https://www.westernsydney.edu.au/marcs/about/our_people/researchers/dr_anna_fiveash).
 
Required: background in experimental/developmental psychology, cognitive neurosciences or neuropsychology; motivation for team work; statistical and programming skills
Preferable: knowledge in the field of neurosciences of music and/or auditory perception, research experience in developmental science, prior experience with EEG or eye-tracking, French fluency, musical training.
