Résumé
This paper is aimed at presenting an overview of research on implicit and explicit memoey and at introducing subsequent contributions. In the first part of this paper we present the concepts of implicit and explicit memory and a classification of memory tests according to these two dimensions. The second part deals with the relationships between the two kinds of measures of memory, when different characteristics of the subjects and other traditional variables are manipulated. The last part sets out the main theoretical approaches which have been used to explain the relationships between implicit and explicit memory.
